The TOEIC Listening and Reading Test Format
The TOEIC Listening and Reading test is a two-hour multiple-choice test administered on a computer screen. It consists of 200 questions divided into two sections:
- Listening Section: The Listening section tests how well you understand spoken English. It consists of four parts and contains 100 questions. You will hear the audio through headphones connected to the computer. You will be asked to answer questions based on a variety of statements, questions, conversations, and talks played in English. The questions and answer choices will appear on the screen. Total time: approximately 45 minutes.
- Reading Section: The Reading section includes three parts, testing how well you understand written English. You will read a variety of materials presented on the computer screen and respond at your own pace to 100 questions based on the content of the materials provided to you. You will select your answers using the computer mouse or keyboard. Total time: 75 minutes.
In this computer-based format, you will navigate through the test using on-screen buttons. You can mark questions for review and return to them later if time allows. The computer will automatically save your answers as you progress through the test. At the end of each section, you will have the opportunity to review and change your answers before submitting them.
